Tour of Soave

You will be taken for a day trip to the hills of Soave, east of the city of Verona. Soave is located at the bottom of the Alpine foothills, with gentle slopes that have for many centuries been an area of quality grape growing. In fact, wine of international fame is made here, thanks to the excellent quality of the white grapes grown in the surrounding area.

The program includes a free visit to the picturesque old town of Soave, a medieval village surrounded by walls and dominated by a beautiful Scaliger castle. You will see many churches and buildings in different architectural styles such as the fourteenth century courthouse or the XIV century Scaliger Palace, used under Venetian rule as a dwelling for the Captains of the Serenissimo. Later you will visit the courtyards and the inner rooms of the castle, which will bring to mind great scenes of wars, battles and the typical prisons of that period.

We recommend a stop for lunch at one of the local taverns or inns where you will be served typical dishes accompanied by a glass of local wine, a classic Soave or Recioto.

In the afternoon we will take you to the village of Val d'Alpone for a guided tour in a very large cantina. It covers an area of 7000 sq m that contains various rooms for grape drying, wine making, wine aging and the making of sparkling wine, until the wines are bottled and stored. Here you will be offered a tasting of Soave D.O.C., Recioto and Durello that will be served with appetizers and typical products.

Our staff is at your disposal to customize the program to suit your needs.
