Your the Venetian Villas
You will be taken on a full-day tour to visit the Venetian Villas.
The first visit will be to the beautiful Villa Valmarana ai Nani outside Vicenza that dates back to 1669. The villa gets its name from the 17 statues of dwarfs placed on the walls designed by Giandomenico; the villa is frescoed by Giambattista Tiepolo.
The tour continues towards Vicenza, where we will stop at the famous Olympic Theater designed by Palladio. This is the first theater in the world to be covered in masonry with its interior made entirely of wood, putty and plaster. Today famous operas and plays are performed here.
Then you will be driven to Bassano del Grappa for a lunch break and a free visit. One of the main attractions of Bassano is the covered wooden bridge Ponte degli Alpini from which you can admire the beautiful surrounding landscape. This bridge, built in 1569, was destroyed by wars and floods and again rebuilt after WWII following Palladio’s original model.
In Bassano you will be able to visit the famous distilleries in the center where you can taste and buy the renowned local grappa. Bassano is also famous for its white ceramic items, on sale in local shops.
Our staff is at your disposal to customize the program to suit your needs.
